Photos – The Canon silhouettes, Tryfan by night

24Apr11

A 5.30pm start resulted in a stunningly crisp ascent of Tryfan via Milestone Buttress in the evening light, barely requiring headtorches.
Nipping accross to Bristly Ridge, some Grade 3 (TH) variations were pleasantly committing in the dark and offered quickest access to the Cantilever for a Jetboil dinner.
Night-nav practice for Tom’s ML across the Glyderau plateau and a quick descent down the kitchen. Incredible stargazing opportunities with a new moon.

  3. What gorgeous pics. I’m afraid the biggest peak in North Wales I’ve climbed was Moel Famau on New Year’s Day once. It was freezing cold and I stupidly forgot gloves. Got to the top and the place was like an ice rink and we couldn’t see a thing!
