London – Zoo, Covent Garden, Natural History Museum, Apple Store

We had a reunion, ish…

March 2011 saw a meet-up in London take place – first stop ZSL London Zoo

…most animals/exhibits were being moved or looking depressed, and the place seemed to have a tired feel to it. In fact, London Zoo, we concluded, was not a touch on Chester Zoo. Still – it had its charm (and a [albeit buggy] GPS-enabled iPhone app) – afterwards an exit directly into (The) Regent’s Park followed by a curry down Brick Lane!

Of course, London wouldn’t be worth a visit sans a trip to Covent Garden where I’m absolutely positive this gold-chap is always on duty. Maybe ‘he’ really is a fixed statue…

Jolly good spuds too from the Dinner Jacket stand too – even with their satellite dish and small LCD screen modernisation, the spuds still taste great – always with a nice crispy-come-burnt shell (I still don’t know how they achieve this culinary miracle). Oh, and I got distracted by the Apple Store

Then there was a thoroughly good recommendation to visit the local SNOG – they sell pure frozen yoghurt with your choice of toppings from granola and fresh raspberries to chocolate brownie and oreo…

SNOG - the frozen yoghurt experience!

We also visited the Natural History Museum. I sneezed at least 100 times (which had nothing to do with the natural history I might add). The photo below shows a new section – the Cocoon – I found the outside much more interesting than the inside – great architecture…
