Llyn Ogwen Landslide

Ok, a landslide on a smallish scale, but still a landslide. We drove/walked past this place on last Saturday’s walk, and I (and others) remember looking at it and questioning it’s stability. Meanwhile it seems it’s been pretty wet in Wales the past few weeks with a slew of flood warnings, so I hope the foundations of Bryn Dinas were calculated correctly!

Apparently they have “teak breaks” in wales…

Four workmen were taken to hospital after their roadside cabin was crushed by a landslide in Gwynedd.

Three of the men suffered minor injuries and one a broken leg in the incident, which followed heavy rain and flooding near Llyn Ogwen, Bethesda.

Meanwhile across the rest of Wales, 28 flood warnings are currently in force.

Schools and roads have been closed and transport services disrupted because of heavy rain.

Emergency services were called to help the men swept away in the cabin as they had a teak break at around 1000 GMT on Tuesday.
