Google announced their beta “Google Print” service this week, which looks promising, however I wasn’t too convinced by it’s error messages when I started browsing one of the books…

To suggest that my computer has a virus would be insanity, however, suggesting that even a network may have a virus is sure to instill fear in people so is probably not an ideal thing to state in a beta version of a product.

Quotes of the [Microsoft] week…

“It should be noted that when a tech centric site reviews your software and says “It’s so confusing, it would render even the computing enthusiast frustrated – it might be time to step back and reevaluate your software creation processes.” [New MS Media Center Coverage]

“If they could just stop making such fools of themselves things would improve. We don’t expect a presentation from Gates to be anywhere in the same league as Jobs but making sure the janitor didn’t accidentally turn off the internet doesn’t seem like too much to ask does it?” [Apple Matters regarding the failure at the ‘Live’ Demo]

“It’s easy. It’s live, and it has ‘me’ at the center of the universe,” [Blake Irving immediately before the ‘Live‘ demo failed]

“Whoever said ‘There’s no such thing as bad publicity’ obviously never met the management at MS.” [Apple Matters]

“You want the real thing? Get a Mac. You want a backwards, upside-down, several-versions-old fake Mac on ugly hardware that also runs viruses, spyware, adware, and other assorted malware? Get a Windows PC.” [Mac Daily News]

  1. Google Print works for me…

Remember, you’re on a residential network with (I guess) about 10,000 PCs connected to it – any one of which could be doing something – so Google is blocking your IP…

That’s how I got banned from /. last year. Stupid thing thought the entire Durham network was one computer. Hmmph.
